Welcome to the National Healthcare Quality Report (NHQR) Data Access Tool


You can use the categories on the left to access trend data for particular measures, or to access National or State estimates from the data tables.

The upper box on the left mirrors the categories and subcategories used in the report and the Tables Appendix. For example:

The middle and lower boxes offer alternative ways of accessing the same data to users less familiar with the NHQR. For measures with trend data, the search will return a small table with estimates and standard errors for at least three data years. For estimates with one estimate per year, a line graph of the data is also shown. If the Tables Appendix does not contain a particular table or data category, this is indicated by a line through that selection, e.g. State.

Currently not all the estimates from the data tables can be selected with this search tool. For measures with national tables you can access the overall, or national, estimate and its standard error. For measures with State tables, you can select a particular State and see its estimate (and standard error) along with the estimate from all reporting States.

For data from National or State tables, the table number preceding the table title is a link to the full table, which is available for download.

The following abbreviations are used for data not included in the tables: DNA (data not available); DNC (data not collected); DSU (data do not meet the criteria for statistical reliability, data quality or confidentiality).
